Internet freedoms
Abstract
Attempts to restrict Internet freedoms are fuelled by many factors: by governments' desire to control the Internet; by commercial organisations' opposition to free information and services that threaten their profits; by public fears of the misuse of the Internet by criminals. However, we should be careful that the 'security' we might obtain by these restrictions is not at the loss of the far greater benefits the Internet provides.
