Abstract
This article provides a thirty year profile of teacher strikes in New Jersey. It demonstrates that the number and severity of teacher strikes has systematically declined. The author suggests that this long term decline in strike activity is at least partially explained by the maturation of the system and its participants. It suggests that surges in strike activity are related to external forces and the strike activity in this state is influenced by location and population density. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 United States License.
