Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between school administrators' preferences for membership in an AFL-CIO union and their attitudes concerning the proper role of principals during teachers' strikes. Significant differences in attitudes were found among administrator occupations and between union and professional association members. The findings yield implications concerning the ability of an AFL-CIO union to attract school administrator members.
